Power to Succeed is a programme that has been designed to support unemployed individuals suffering the effects of social exclusion and barriers to work.

The programme involves the use of motivational life coaching, creative visualisation, hypnotherapy and NLP to assist individuals suffering the effects of low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, anxiety (including social phobia) and depression, preparing them to a point where they feel ready and able to return to work and become more active in the community.

Why Power to Succeed?
Power to Succeed encourages personal development and teaches effective and necessary life skills. It is designed to fulfil the strategic objective: '
to enhance the training and employment prospects of unemployed individuals by helping them to realise their potential, deal with fears, anxiety and depression, increase self-esteem and self-confidence, become more motivated and identify and manifest positive goals.

For many people their job helps to keep them more mentally and emotionally stable. This is why the work they do must be right for them. Power to Succeed also helps individuals develop their social skills. Without social skills, people find it difficult to function properly at work. And without work, their self-esteem reduces, their sense of security diminishes, and many become depressed.

Providing members of the community with the skills that they need to obtain a job is paramount in maintaining their mental and physical health. It enables individuals to develop a sense of pride and self-confidence so that they may improve their lives, the lives of their families, and contribute to the community around them.

With the help and support of the Power to Succeed program individuals can:

Think about what they want from life - career, business.

Deal with underlying issues that serve as barriers to work

Deal with fears around manifesting what they really
want

Increase self-esteem and develop self-confidence

Decide on a educational/work placement or training proram to develop the skills they need to obtain the job they really want

Identify appropriate steps and resources to get the job they want

The program is designed to help individuals visualise and manifest the future they would like to build. Participants are encouraged to anticipate the choices, opportunities and difficulties that may be encountered along their path to success.

It brings organisations/businesses and individuals seeking employment face to face, a road that is often difficult to cross for many people.

in addition to an exciting one-day workshop, the program offers on-going one-to-one life coaching sessions and teaches a range of strategies and techniques for prioritising and dealing with every-day challenges to help motivate and move individuals forward toward their chosen goals. The workshop is optional.

Power to Succeed is about planning while developing personally and having fun; it is about helping people achieve their ambitions whilst enjoying the process.

Who can use this service?

Individuals who are suffering from the effects of low self-esteem, lack of motivation and self-confidence, fear, anxiety and depression, who are unemployed and living within the city of Kingston-upon-Hull and immediate surrounding areas.
People who are classed as disabled in some way.

How the program works

Initial interview

Identify the underlying causes relating to the clients unemployment situation

Addressing and resolving the clients underlying issues

Helping the client to develop a more positive self-image and become more motivated through the use of creative visualisation, NLP, hypnotherapy and psychological life coaching

Identify desires around future employment or self-
employment

Create an action plan

Identify practical resources from other agencies

Support in new employment

Possible results

Voluntary work leading to paid employment

Work placement leading to permanent paid work

Permanent paid work (full or part time)

Full-time education or training leading to a career or businessStarting their own business

Hypnosis helping hand to find you that job

HULL:

People are being helped back to into work through hypnotherapy and life coaching.
Unemployed people in the city can use the free service to find a job.

The Power to Succeed programme, which is run by the Creative Connexions Foundation, offers people day-long sessions or individual coaching sessions.
The service also includes therapies including creative visualisation and enhancing peoples interview skills.
The therapy takes place at Queens House, Paragon Street, in the city centre.

Jeana Stace, who runs the programme, said: “Power to Succeed develops greater understanding of the fears and underlying personal beliefs that cause individuals to remain stuck.

“The programme enables the development of skills and tools, helping them to work through fear and bringing desired goals into action. “
